Sometimes when people ask me about my nationality, I tell them I'm from Zion though in an atmosphere of humour but in spiritual reality, once we give our lives to Jesus, our citizenship changes from the earthly to the heavenly. The truth must be told, you are not from this world, you're just a pilgrim here. One day, when you're done with your assignment, you will go home.
Jim Reeves in his popular song said 'This world is not my home, I'm just passing through, my treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blues, the angels welcome me from heaven's open door and I can't feel at home in this world anymore'. Meditate on the lyrics again.
If we live with the consciousness of eternity, we would be circumspect in our walk with God. It is only those that feel at home that get entangled with the affairs of this world without preparing for the world to come. We should live like men waiting to catch the train (rapture), once we miss the train, the journey becomes endless in pain and misery.
This world is not our home, please don't feel at home here.
Father, I receive grace to live in the consciousness of my heavenly home In Jesus name. Amen
