Ezra 7:10 "For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments."
Ezra was a scribe and his era was a time when the Jews were in captivity. They yearned for liberation and God raised Ezra as one of the key leaders that would teach the slaves his forgotten laws. Before Ezra could take on such a noble task, he made some vital decisions that we need to examine.
The first thing he decided to do was to seek the law of the lord. Any man that would be useful for God in this generation must decide to first seek what is written in the word and relate with God via his word. In Ezra's time, all they had was the law; but we have something more perfect.
Knowing God via the word is priceless and no one can go far without the word.
Until the word of God saturates your heart and entire being, you cannot be the kind of man God wants you to be. The bible should be your best book, not for decoration but a book that you consult for direction.
A song says ' I have a wonderful treasure, the gift of God without measure, we'll travel together, my bible and I'.
Could that be said of you?
Father, I receive grace to treasure the word more than anything in Jesus name. Amen
