Acts 4:29-30 - _*"And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word. Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.*"_
I ministered in a large crusade years ago. The crowd was so massive that it was physically impossible for me to lay hands on everyone. So I instructed all the pastors present to go into the crowd and minister to the people.
Suddenly, several people under demonic influence began to manifest violently. But to my amazement, only a few pastors moved close to them. The rest kept their distance.
After the meeting, I debriefed with my team. They told me the truth: most of those pastors were afraid. They don't like to cast out demons for fear of spiritual attack or retaliation. Till today, I still wonder - why should those who dwell in light be afraid of darkness?
This is the sad reality in the Body of Christ today. It is not power failure, it is boldness failure.
Many believers are fully charged inside but discharged outside. They have prayed for power, fasted for power, and God has deposited power, yet when they are confronted with a situation that demands power - a sick person, a demonic case, a dying business - they become lily-livered.
*I would rather you pray for boldness than for more power.*
*The least believer, if there is anything like that, carries enormous, explosive potential inside to paralyze Satan and his minions. The Holy Ghost inside you is not a small boy. What you need is not more power, you need the courage to step out and release what you already have*.
There are people who have been in Christ for ten, twenty years and they have never healed the sick, never cast out a devil, never led a soul to Christ boldly. They are saved, but they are not dangerous to the kingdom of darkness.
It is even more shocking to see preachers with big titles, collars, and long robes who can teach power eloquently but cannot confront a demon-possessed child. They can explain Greek and Hebrew, but they cannot enforce the Name of Jesus in a crisis.
One principle I enforce on the mission field is this: I tell every team member, "You can do it." You can cast out devils, you can pray for the sick, you can operate in the miraculous. The same Holy Ghost in me is in you.
And God has honored their boldness. I have seen God use some of my team members to do miracles that even amazed me. They never knew what was trapped inside them until they dared to step out.
Hear this: Satan is not afraid of your big title, your big Bible, or your big church. He is afraid of a believer who knows who he is and dares to act.
The early church understood this. When they were threatened by the government, they did not pray, "Lord, give us more power." They had already received power in Acts 2. They prayed for what was lacking. They prayed:
_"And now, Lord... grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal..." (Acts 4:29-30 NKJV)_
Power is the engine, but boldness is the ignition key. Without boldness, the engine will never start.
God cannot confirm a Word you are too afraid to speak. The miracles in verse 30 only happen after the boldness in verse 29 is released.
Don't pray for more power today. Pray for great boldness. Then step out. Go and lay hands on one sick person today. Command one demonic situation in your street or family in the Name of Jesus. The power will flow when you become bold.
