1 Corinthians 6:18 *"Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body*".
*EFFECTS OF PORN IN MARRIAGE*(d)
Porn is bad. It destroys more than it builds. You will never get any benefit from porn because it is not designed for mutual benefit of couples. It was made to corrupt people and introduce demons into lives.
*IV.IT CREATES EMOTIONAL DISTANCE*
Couples can be together on the same bed, but far apart in heart. That's what emotional distance looks like. Some couples are divorced emotionally but they are still sleeping on the same bed. It ia just a matter of time, things will fall apart.
*This is so because porn rewires the brain for screen action not real action with a real person*.
Porn gives fast dopamine without effort. Real intimacy needs talk, patience, foreplay, emotion. After too much screen, brain prefers the easy fast reward and finds real partner "slow" or "boring". So desire for spouse drops.
If there is any man or woman who does not desire his spouse sexually, this might be one of the reasons. Their minds become dead to the fact that what they watch in porn are fake, edited, acted. It is just fantasy, not real.
Porn sets the tone for comparison and objectify your partner. So, sex is restricted to performance instead of connection. That is why I prefer to use the word love making for couples instead of sex.
*One can have sex without making love but one cannot make love without having sex*.
Porn kills love making instinct because it presents sex as what one person enjoys alone while the other person feels used. Men who watch porn use their wives for "experiment".
If you are trapped in the web of porn as a married person, simply stop porn so that you can rebuild emotional connection with your spouse. Further, do things together. Eat, pray, walk, talk and cook together. Hold hands, have friendly conversations often. All these builds emotional connection.
Let's pray the prayer of the psalmist in Psalm 119:37 says, *"Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways*".
