1 Corinthians 13:6 *"Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth*".
*LOVE HATES EVIL AND LOVES THE TRUTH*
A man shared the story of how another man fell from grace to grass. He did this with joy and smiles saying, "I knew he will fall flat and come to nothing. What a proud man he was"! He made the news public and spent considerable time doing this.
Another man decided to pray for the same man. He visited and asked for ways he could be of help to alleviate his predicament. He stood by him and helped in restoring this man. Let me ask you, who among the two loved like Jesus?
There are two sides to love: the first is hatred for evil and love for what is good and worth celebrating. Think of it like this: Your heart is either clapping for the wrong thing, or clapping for the right thing. Love always claps for truth.
“Did you hear what happened to Mr XXX?” If we smile upon hearing that or we say things like, "I knew it will come to that", it shows how unloving and wicked our heart is.
It is an act of evil to laugh and mock the failure of another person. Laughing at what destroys others is unlike God.That’s not love. That’s the opposite of God. Even when people who hates us experience bad things.
*Proverbs 24:17* says, “Do not gloat when your enemy falls.”
Love grieves over sin, even when it’s not our sin. Because sin destroys people God loves. Christ couldn't have been laughing at the sin of the world when He died on the cross, how come you find sin hilarious? We are to mourn and grief over sin.
The love of God is indescribable and He wants us to be clothed with the same garment of love. Whatever breaks God's heart should never be celebrated. What do you derive in gossip and spreading evil about people online?
What love celebrates is the truth. Love and truth are siamese twins. They are inseparable. Ephesians 4:15 says, *"Speaking the truth in love*”. Love does not accommodate lies&exaggeration. Anywhere truth wins, love rejoices.
Jesus is truth personified(John 14:6). So if we love God, we will love what He loves: Truth.
Father, help me to love like you in Jesus name.
