Romans8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
Years back, I use to be a motivational speaker and I teach people on how to start the year by setting S.M.A.R.T. goals. The element of spiritual depth was lacking in my life and teachings then.
At the beginning of every year, some people make resolutions while some set goals. Virtually almost everyone decides to do something new and drop some old things.
It is not enough to set goals but it is better to start your year spiritually to know what God has for you in his plan and set goals along that line. Goals set in the flesh will produce carnal results but when we start from the spiritual standpoint, we won't miss God's purpose for our lives. In the past, your pursuit may have been focused on the things of the flesh, you have to turn a new leaf and start pursuing spiritual things.
You need to decide on how vibrant you want your spiritual life to be this year. If you were not serious last year, this is the time to tune to God's spiritual frequency. You must upgrade your prayer and word study life. Listen to God before taking decisions and stay connected to the Holy Spirit. This is the foundation of your success this year.
