FAST WITH DISCRETION Pt.5

January 22, 2016 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

Prov2:11 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:

A wise man said If you follow the multitude, you won't get to your destination on time. Another man also said when the purpose of a thing isn't known, abuse is inevitable. All these wise sayings points to something- purpose. Before embarking on a fast, the purpose of that fasting programme must be clearly defined.

When you want to fast, you must be able to answer questions like: 'What do I want to pray and fast about'? What do I want to achieve with this fasting? You don't fast because you see people fasting, it is something you do because there's a need for it. You won't be able to evaluate the success rate of your fasting if it doesn't have a specific purpose from the beginning.

Fasting is more than a spiritual exercise, it is a spiritual attitudinal posture that aligns our spirit-man to operate at the frequency God desires for our life. That's why it must be done on purpose. Every one that fasted in the bible did so for a purpose. In the case of a general fasting declared in the church, it must be channelled towards a purpose or better still if not defined, find a personal purpose for it as led by the Spirit.

Action point

I receive divine sense to fast productively In Jesus name. Amen
