Romans3: 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.( 24 )Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
In a court room, if a judge declares a criminal as justified or pardoned, it would surprise everyone because a criminal is meant to face the full wrath of the law according to the law. To be declared justified is like saying 'just as if you did not do it'. You are declared righteous before God just as if you've not sinned before.
The grace that comes with salvation brings justification and when God sees you, he doesn't see you in the light of your past but he sees the righteousness of Christ on you. You don't need to come into God's presence with load of guilt and shame, God's decision to listen to you is based on the righteousness of Christ that has been given to you as a gift not of your works.
Those that lived under the law were trying to achieve this type of righteousness by following the dictates of the law but still they didn't achieve it. The law is a bondage to the adherents but grace liberates and gives this priceless gift of righteousness to us. In this dispensation, we can't get blessed or be made righteous by the deeds of the law, accept his grace.
