2Cor6:3 We live in such a way that no one will stumble because of us, and no one will find fault with our ministry. NLT
I was discussing with my wife recently about certain events that happened to a minister of the gospel who left the ministry. He was disciplined in his church for wrong doing but he left the church and his life took a turn for the worse. I was surprised about some of the things he did because as a young man in the faith, if not careful I may find it hard to believe any preacher of holiness as was the man.
My wife insinuated that such things could make some of his members to backslide and I agree it is true. Paul made it clear that he did his best to ensure that no one stumbles because of his life. It is possible for some people to stumble and even leave the faith because of an erring leader. For example, a leader that is sexually immoral or who is a polygamist may cause others to fall into the same sin.
We live at the end of the end times. The devil is fighting the last battle to ensure that ministers miss the mark. A little carelessness here and there can ruin decades of ministry. Church workers are also ministers and should strive to live by example. Today, men no longer read their bibles, they read the bible through us. A single error can lead millions to hell, leaders be watchful.
Father, may I not disgrace you In Jesus Name. Amen
