Matthew6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
I love God's word because it is straight and direct. The truths in it are not hidden to those that read with an open mind and an alert spirit. In setting our priorities right this year, God is telling us the first thing that should be done that will attract others- seek the first the kingdom.
We humans have the tendency to major on the minor and pursue the minor with vigour and passion. Any pursuit that is not kingdom centred is a minor pursuit and should give way for the real pursuit- the kingdom. As good as money, cars and houses are, they shouldn't the major pursuit of a believer. You must redefine your pursuit and set your priority right.
Some people are so engrossed in the pursuit of mundane things such that they abandon mid-week services. Even when they attend church on sunday, they miss sunday school. Their personal altar is cold and non-existent, no passion for God any longer but rather, they're passionate about work only. Those that seek the kingdom will never lack the good things of life because kingdom pursuit attracts other good things of life.
Redefine your pursuit.
Father, I receive grace to be a kingdom addict In Jesus name.
