Psalms37:4 Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Many believers have interpreted this scripture to mean that God will grant all our heart desires. Even when some desires are outrightly outside God's will, some have taken that scripture to mean that anything goes. No, God won't just grant any desire except for the desires that aligns to his perfect will. He may grant your desires in his permissive will but here God wants to grant desires that aligns to his will alone.
The opening of that verse gave us a task. The task is that we should delight ourselves in the Lord. To be delighted in God is to stay in fellowship with God, you cannot fellowship with who and what you're not happy about. When you delight yourself in God, his desires rubs on you and you'll begin to think his thoughts.
At that level, God's desires are your desires. Even when ideas come to your mind and you check your spirit-man, you'll discover that those ideas came from God because you delighted in him. Never stop delighting yourself in God through consistent fellowship. Let his presence, power and thoughts rub on you, then your desires would be granted.
