Psalms25:14 The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.
I heard a preacher sometimes ago, he said that it is not scriptural to have the fear God. He said it was not written in the new testament that we should fear God. Later I saw 2Cor7:1 where we were enjoined to perfect holiness in the fear of God. That's a new testament admonition by apostle Paul.
When the bible talks about 'the fear of God', it is talking about REVERENTIAL FEAR not a destructive fear or what we'll term as being afraid. The reverential fear of God makes us to be a custodian of God's secrets. The reverential fear of God is what brings us closer to God and hold him in high esteem. At the level of reverential fear, we become a possessor of secrets that God won't share to just anybody.
If you are not hearing God or you've been trying to dig out counsel from God's mind without success, you may need to check how much you reverence God. In addition, only the meek will receive direction from God. A proud man doesn't bother asking questions to know deep secrets because he assumes he doesn't need anybody to tell him how to go about things.
God can reveal secrets to you if your fear of him is reverential and you stay meek.
Father, I receive grace to stay meek and live in reverential fear of you In Jesus name.
