Col2:20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, 21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not; 22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
Someone narrated a sister's revelation to me and she said that if a bus is about to crash, God won't save the ladies with attachments on their head. That sounds ridiculous, isn't it? That revelation portrayed God as wicked&selective. I was also in the bus on a certain day, a woman preached and said that God won't give ladies that wear trousers babies because when the angel is bringing the baby, he'll be seeing a man and not a woman.
When men try to observe some do's and don't's to obtain salvation, that is what we call legalism. Legalists don't like grace and they make salvation look so hard to attain by creating rules around it. Legalist don't like forgiveness and they love to see people get punished for their sins, they are justice conscious not mercy conscious.
The many do's and don't's of the law era didn't achieve the righteousness of God, that was why Jesus came. When you try to do more than what Christ has done to obtain God's favour and forgiveness, you're opposed to grace. If our righteousness is enough to get God's blessings and goodness,there won't be any need for Christ.
Legalist boast about their righteousness in prayers, that's why they don't get anything but those that understand God go to the throne of grace and get answers.
Father, purge me of legalism In Jesus name. Amen
