Job31:1 "I made a covenant with my eyes
not to look lustfully at a young woman. NIV
My pastor once told the story of a man that was looking at a woman lustfully while walking on a major road. Unknowingly to him, there was an electric pole ahead. He looked and hit his head on that pole. That's what can happen when a man doesn't have control over his eyesight.
There are two gates that leads into a man's mind, they are the eyes and the ears. Before a man's mind can be defiled, the eyes and the ears must have been so active. In today's world, there are many things seeking for our attention especially the way some ladies dress.
When a woman is scantily dressed, it takes discipline and self control not to focus.
If you want to conquer lust, prayer is good but it is not enough. You need to make conscious effort to close the two major gates that leads into your mind against defilement. Till Jesus comes, everything in sight won't be holy to behold, but we can chose not to look at whatever can stir lust. It is a decision you have to make like job did.
Let your major focus be on the word and listen to things that are edifying.
