Psalms16:5 The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
Mark Stone was a very wealthy merchant in his days. He had three sons, his last born was a believer and he led a very devoted life to God not allowing the wealth of his father to influence him wrongly. When this rich man was about to die, he decided to share portions of his estate and properties.
His last born rejected all that was apportioned to him. He told his father that he had a greater portion in life than what anyone could imagine. His father asked him what it was, the young man answered by quoting Psalms 16:5: The Lord is the portion of my inheritance. This rich man cried and asked his son how he could also have this LORD, that is worth more than all he had. The son simply led him to Christ and just two days after, he died.
God is all you need. If God is all you've got, then he is all you need. You don't need to be afraid of losing what belongs to you because God is enough for you. When you take God as your portion in life, you won't sweat to have gold. Some are pursuing gold and ignoring God.
The secret of peace in life's crisis is when you see God as your portion that is worth more than what anyone can offer.
I receive grace to pursue God and not gold In Jesus name. Amen
