Psalms32:5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin.
I heard a story about a christian couple that had delay in child bearing. They have waited for several years praying and fasting but no answer. One day, God spoke to the lady that she was responsible for the delay because there was a secret she didn't confess to her husband about her past. Evidently, she had a rough past that lessen her chances of pregnancy.
As soon as she took the bold of confession, their long awaited baby came. There are sins you'll confess to God and there are some that you'll confess to man after receiving forgiveness from God. When you know you're dealing with someone and a previous action is hindering your progress in your dealings with that person, please confess it.
Confession helps to heal us emotionally. Some people have done certain things in the past that keeps them in a state of perpetual emotional torture. God has forgiven them but because they haven't confessed to someone, they aren't healed emotionally. Do you need emotional and mental healing today? You need to confess it.
The sin that God hasn't forgiven is the sin that you haven't confessed.
