Psalms112: 1 Praise the LORD!
How joyful are those who fear the LORD
and delight in obeying his commands. 2 Their children will be successful everywhere; an entire generation of godly people will be blessed. NLT
Jonathan Edward was a Puritan preacher in the 1700s, who left a godly legacy for his 11 children. Edwards was known to be a disciplinarian who doesn't joke with godly training. At the turn of the century, Pastor A.E. Winship decided to do a research on the generations of J. Edward& Max Jukes (An atheist in 1700s who preached against abolition of law, encouraged free sex).
MAX JUKES
310 of the 1,200 descendants were professional paupers—more than one in four. 300 of the 1,200—one in four—died in infancy from lack of good care and good conditions. 50 women who lived lives of notorious debauchery. 400 men and women were physically wrecked early by their own wickedness.7 were murderers. 60 were habitual thieves who spent on the average twelve years each in lawlessness. 130 criminals who were convicted more or less often of crime. They cost the state more than $1,250,000 because of their perpetual crime.
How do you want your generation to look like? A man that doesn't fear God cannot produce a godly generation. Parents that do not care about the things of God may not have children that would do so. The first school where a child learn from is the home; consciously you have to teach your kids about Jesus Christ. Oral Robert said that his mum spoke so much about Jesus to the extent that he felt Jesus was living in their neighbourhood.
Father, my generation would not be a bad example like Max Jukes In Jesus name. Amen
