MEET JOHN D. ROCKEFELLER

September 14, 2016 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

Job36:11 “If they listen and obey God,

they will be blessed with prosperity throughout their lives. All their years will be pleasant. NLT

John Davison Rockefeller was an American oil magnate that was regarded as one of the men that built America. He was the CEO of Standard oil company that splitted into Exxon Mobil and Chevron. He redefined philanthropy and founded University of Chicago and Rockefeller University. He spent a lot of money on scientific research so that yellow fever and meningitis would be eradicated. He sponsored missionaries, orphanages and other worthy projects in his life time.

The most amazing thing about this wealthy man was that he was a devoted Christian who read the bible daily, prayed daily, taught as a sunday school teacher and had time for his family something that surprised other business men of his day. He wouldn't enter a business deal without being led by the Holy Spirit. Based on 2007 inflation adjusted rate, he was worth $336 billion U.S. dollars. He died at age 98 a fulfilled man not because of his wealth but because of his relationship with God.

The word of God is clear about prosperity, if you obey God and listen to him, your prosperity is inevitable. I want to tell you that money is not worth pursuing, the pursuit of God attracts every other thing just as it was in John D. Rockefeller's story. God only entrust kingdom wealth into the hands of kingdom focused and minded believers. The pursuit of God is the path to true prosperity.

If you are serious with God, you'll go far with him.

Action point

Father, I receive grace to obey you and listen to your voice daily In Jesus name. Amen
