1Chron15:13 Because you Levites did not carry the Ark the first time, the anger of the LORD our God burst out against us. We failed to ask God how to move it properly.” NLT
The story of Uzzah still amazes me. He wanted to steady the ark of the covenant that was about falling but God struck him and he died because they didn't inquire from God on how they should move the ark properly. I thought God should have commended him for his zeal and concern but he got the opposite and that alone caused even King David to become scared of what should be jealously kept.
Either in ministry, career, business or other spiritual assignments, we fail because we fail to ask God on how to do it properly. It is possible to hear clearly from God what to do and not ask him how to do what to do. There is a pattern for carrying out whatever instruction we receive from the Lord. God is not only interested in the result we produce but also in how we get that result.
Divine instruction and direction is key to success in anything in life. When you carry out divine assignments your own way, you may get struck like Uzzah. It may not be death but there would be a sense of unfulfilment and hitches. God is only committed to the instruction he gives to you not the one's you fabricate yourself. Ask God how to do that thing so as to avoid the Uzzah experience.
