1Kings3:4 The most important of these places of worship was at Gibeon, so the king went there and sacrificed 1,000 burnt offerings.(5) That night the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream, and God said, “What do you want? Ask, and I will give it to you!” NLT
Solomon was a wealthy king and even till date, his wealth still has value considering inflation. He decided to sacrifice in an unusual way such that God's attention was focused on him. He sacrificed a thousand burnt offering, something that was very unusual in his day so God decided to pay him a visit in his dream.
There are levels of giving, one dimension of giving that many do not explore is sacrficial giving. Sacrificial giving is a sacrifice, it takes something from you and do not leave you in your comfort zone. Sacrificial giving draws God attention towards you and makes God ask question like he did to Solomon. Sacrificial giving is what makes for turn around in your fiances and other areas of your life.
I have seen several cases of people that sacrificed and walked into abundance. God loves it when we give to him out of a heart that is willing to give all and not some, that widow gave a little but Jesus said she gave more than the rest because she gave all- that is sacrificial giving. You can give sacrificially to a genuine man of God as well just like the widow of Zarephath did. It pays.
Father, I receive the grace to be a sacrificial give In Jesus name. Amen
