1Thess5:17 *Never stop praying* NLT
Years back, I was on a men only prayer mountain and I saw a large number of married men who raised their hands to signal that they came to pray about their marriages.
They raised their hands because the preacher asked that those who came to pray against their wives should signify. About 80% of men in attendance did. Probably, a prophet told them their wives are witches and are behind their problems.
I thank God the prayer leader corrected that anomaly. In fact, he told most of them to return home and show love to their wives instead of praying her to death.
I once heard about a preacher whose wife was pregnant with his child and his prayer point was "Lord, let her die with the pregnancy". Some go to the mountain praying they don't meet her alive when they get home.
Unfortunately, most of those men always return home to meet their wives eating chicken and enjoying life. God doesn't answer wicked prayers. Halleluyah!!!
Before you pray fire and brimstone on your spouse, do you pray for him/her always? If yes, what do you pray about?
*You are to pray for your spouse not against your spouse*.
I discovered that most people who complain about their spouses rarely pray for them. How often do you pray for and with your spouse?
There are women who have resolved to pray for their children only but if you ask them to pray for their husbands, they may say "he has chosen his path, let me focus on my children because they are my future". That is not right.
There are husbands who pray about other things but when it comes to praying for their wives, they are tongue-tied. Early In your marriage or even prior(for singles), your spouse should be on your prayer list.
*Don't wait till when there's a misunderstanding before making your spouse your prayer point. It is better to make your spouse your prayer focus before he/she becomes your prayer request*.
Prayer is the glue that binds all together. It may seem as though all we've been saying so far sound like methods but I want you to know that none will work unless they're backed by prayers.
The Holy Spirit has the key to fixing any missing understanding in our homes. Sometimes, certain issues require prayer more than any other thing. With prayer, you can capture the heart of your spouse to be obedient to God's word.
The bible says, *"The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will*"(Prov21:1).
There is no stony heart that God cannot break. Form the habit of mentioning your spouse name to God daily. Also, learn to hold hands with her and pray in agreement. That atmosphere helps in fixing missing understanding.
Pray for your spouse, not against him/her. You won't want to fight someone who is your prayer partner. This is sanctified common sense.
Make it a point of duty to pray for your spouse daily. Mention to God what you desire to see in your spouse and trust God to fix it.
