2Timothy2:19 *"Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness*”.
*III.THE DOCTRINE OF BODILY RESURRECTION*
Another vital doctrine of the Christian faith is the doctrine of Christ's resurrection. Jesus died and rose from the dead. It was not a phantom resurrection but a real resurrection with evidence. A physical one not spiritual as some posit. Anyone who doesn't believe in Christ's resurrection is not your brother or sister in Christ.
His death alone is not enough. If He died without resurrecting, He won't be different from other religious leaders who died and never resurrected. Also, if Christ did not resurrect, our salvation will not be perfected because the power that saves is the resurrection power. We are assured of resurrecting on the last day because Christ resurrected.
Apostle Paul says, *"If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile*” (1 Cor 15:17). Without resurrection, there won't be salvation for you and me. Why will some people doubt resurrection despite the numerous evidence from scriptures?
All the four Gospels recorded an empty tomb where a stone was rolled away not because his body was missing but because there was an orderly departure which left his clothes neatly in place.
John 20:6-7 says, *"Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, [7] while the cloth that had covered Jesus’ head was folded up and lying apart from the other wrappings*".
The Psalmist prophesied about Christ's resurrection in his messianic prophecy in chapter 16:10(NLT), *"For you will not leave my soul among the dead allow your holy one to rot in the grave*". This prophecy was fulfilled at Christ's resurrection.
After His resurrection, He was seen by many people over a period of 40 days: *"After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God*"(Acts 1:3 NIV).
Against all the lies and erroneous assumption peddled against the resurrection of Christ from one generation to the other, we believe the testimony of scriptures.
Jesus, I thank you for saving me. The resurrection power is at work in me; I walk in the resurrection power in Jesus name
