We need to be schooled in the things of the Spirit If we want to be truly spiritual. The dynamics of Spiritual things is deeper than we think.
In my opinion, the average believer is not properly educated about the Holy Spirit. The young Charismatics see Him only from the standpoint of theatrics and energy yet I discovered there was a generation of believers who walked with God and manifested the power of the world to come greatly without all the "drama" I see around today.
I am a pentecostal preacher and I believe in the outpouring of the Spirit evidenced with speaking in tongues but I must be sincere about the hand of God certain men in history who never spoke in tongues yet have done far more than tongue-talking men.
What I am advocating for is that we embrace all of the Spirit's ministry in our lives and not just one. The Holy Spirit is multi-dimensional.
*iii. HE INTERCEDES FOR US*
Romans 8:26-27 *"And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. [27] And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will*" (NLT).
There is a weakness you and I have. That weakness is that we don't know what we ought to pray about.
Many a times, we think we are prayer warriors and some take pride in that. Some enter the place of prayer with a list and ready-made words they think is suited for their request.
Let me puncture that pride today; you don't know what you ought to pray about always. That is our common weakness in the place of prayer.
Blessed be God for the intercessory ministry of the Spirit. At those times when the will of God is to be done in our lives, the Holy Spirit swings into action and intercede for us with groanings that cannot be utttered. This is strictly the work of the Spirit.
He ensures that our lives is in alignment with God's will. He does that through His own intercession to the father. This is something that happens between Him and the father on our behalf.
When faced with life issues, be rest assured that the Holy Spirit is working in your best interest. He is working to ensure that God's will is done in our lives by interceding for us.
When and where the will of God is not known, ask that God's will be done. The Holy Spirit will take it up from there and intercede for you to ensure your life is in alignment with the will of the father.
Father, I thank you for the intercessory ministry of the Holy Spirit. May my life align with the perfect will of God henceforth in Jesus name.
