1Kings11:9 The LORD was very angry with Solomon, for his heart had turned away from the LORD, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice. NLT
King Solomon was a child of destiny. God took interest in him and crowned him the king of Israel despite the fact that he wasn't the first son of king David. He enjoyed God's blessings and wisdom was made available to him. In Solomon's time, gold was used to make all his house-hold utensils because silver was considered worthless. He had the revelation of God twice but his heart turned from God.
One would wonder why a man that was blessed by God and had the revelation of God turned against God despite all the endowment from God? The answer isn't far-fetched, Solomon loved many foreign women, those women brought their idols into his palace and he technically became an idolater in his heart.
When you associate wrongly, your heart can drift away from God. Solomon should have married women with similar focus and spiritual alignment but the lust of his heart was his undoing. As a child of God, the choice of whom to marry is a very important decision if you will go far with God and in destiny. Men of destiny choose their association wisely because it determines a lot even their relationship with God.
Dear father, I refuse to turn away from you like Solomon did In Jesus name. Amen
