According to the Levitical laws, there are several types of offering and one of them is the burnt offering. The Philistines wanted to fight the children of Israel. At a time in history, the Israelites were subjects to the Philistines, the two countries have been at war from time immemorial even till date. The bible Philistine is what we know as Palestine today.
The children of Israel were living in fear of the Philistines. This Gentile nation was ready to wage war against the people of God but Prophet Samuel did something quite unusual. He offered a burnt offering and thunder struck from heaven as he offered the burnt offering unto the Lord. Their enemies were discomfited &defeated.
There are offerings that will make God thunder from heaven like he did for the Israelites. Your offering must be such that can make God move on your behalf to fight for you. There is power in a sacrificial offering that comes from the heart. Convenient&casual offering will produce casual result but that which cost you something& given from a genuine heart will provoke God to fight on your behalf.
