1Sam9:7 Then said Saul to his servant, But, behold, if we go, what shall we bring the man? for the bread is spent in our vessels, and there is not a present to bring to the man of God: what have we?
Saul was looking for his father's ass. After several unsuccessful search they decided to consult with Prophet Samuel. They did that because in that dispensation, they were spiritually dead men and only the prophet and priests heard God and they do that even for the people but in this dispensation of grace, we have unlimited access to the father.
The crux of the matter here is that Saul recognised a higher anointing and he felt he shouldn't go to him empty handed. There are immense benefits when we recognise a carrier of a higher anointing and we sow into it. As a ministry, we pay tithes and sow seeds into higher ministries because that's one of the ways to open the flow of divine blessings. A barren woman in the bible decided to make prophet Elisha comfortable by providing a room for him to sleep during his earthly ministry&God gave her a baby boy.
Do not joke with your pastor or anyone that is labouring over your life spiritually. Most times, they are the bridge you'll climb into your next level. I'm not saying you should sow into the life of anyone that calls himself a preacher but you need to discern the genuineness of the calling. Some preachers ask for money before or after praying for people, don't put your seed there, that's paying for services rendered.
A genuine preacher or teacher of the word is a fertile ground for your seed, sow it there.
Father, I receive grace to put my seed in the right place in Jesus Name. Amen
