Gen22:2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering...(3)... and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.
The story of Abraham receiving instruction from God to offer his only son has been a very challenging story about the obedience father Abraham exhibited. He took his only son and the sacrifice materials and went straight to the mountain where the sacrifice would be made. He didn't argue with God neither did he delay a bit.
What God saw in Abraham wasn't the action of moving to the mountain to perform sacrifice but rather God saw that he had sacrificed Isaac in his heart immediately he received the instruction because he didn't ask God for an alternative to the sacrifice. He so much had faith in God that he was ready to take the wildest risk for God. His obedience was total and from the heart.
Do you know it is possible to carry out a divine instruction but not from the heart? Sometimes, we claim to obey God but without the agreement of our total being. The offering God would accept from any of his children is that which comes from the heart not just from the hand. When God gives an instruction, he expects you align or agree with him from the heart first before you do the performance.
Abraham already assumed Isaac as dead already and he didn't delay in obeying God neither did he question God. Heart-felt obedience is real obedience.
Father, I receive grace to obey wholeheartedly and promptly In Jesus Name. Amen.
