1Kings13:9 For so was it charged me by the word of the LORD, saying, Eat no bread, nor drink water, nor turn again by the same way that thou camest.
There was a young prophet in the chapter above that gave an instruction not to eat, drink and return through the same route that he came. He met an old prophet who told him to eat and drink because he had an angelic instruction to that effect. That sounds contradictory, instead of the young prophet to stay on the instruction that he received earlier, he obeyed the old prophet.
On his way back, he was devoured by a lion. The same old prophet that confused him adjudged him as disobedient. Read the whole chapter. When God gives you a clear instruction, do not allow 'senior
Christians' impose on you their opinion. He regarded the so called 'angelic instruction' of the old prophet than the instruction he received from Jehovah.
That's was the undoing of the old prophet. When you've clearly heard God on a matter, anything that doesn't align to that instruction either from a prophet or your pastor exists only in the realms of opinions. Don't respect the words of men above God's word. Some just believe their pastor or prophet's word and they doubt the voice of God that comes to them.
When instructions comes to you clearly from God, going against it may have unexpected repercussions.
Father, I receive grace to obey your word to the letter In Jesus name. Amen
