2Cor10:4-5 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;( KJV).
Satan told me I'll go to jail. He specifically told me I'll spend two years in jail on arrival in Nigeria. Why? The life of a young man who traveled with me on a mission trip hung on my neck. Both of took ill, we had COVID but his was worse.
My imaginations ran wild. I thought about what people would say about me and the negative rumour that will make the rounds if that boy died.
I spent a considerable amount of time listening and watching the devil's video(bad imaginations). When I realized my faith was under attack, I began to cast down imaginations by talking back to the devil.
The faith that wins is a talking faith. The devil knows how to talk nonsense to us during times of trial but most people don't know how to talk back.
When Goliath boasted in the presence of God's armies, they ran into hiding but when David, a man who understood the talk back principle of faith came on the scene, he replied Goliath saying, "...Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord's , and he will give you into our hands",(1 Samuel 17:45-47 KJV).
What reply did you give to the devil the last time he spoke to you? When you notice your imagination is beginning to run wild over that challenge, talk back. Don't sink into your chair or retire to bed crying, talk back.
Walk around your house or room replying the devil and rebuking him. Be bold to tell him he's a liar. He doesn't have a track record of fulfilled promises.
He may tell you that you'll die poor, wretched, beggarly without a child. Don't let those imaginations and words of his go like that, talk back. Goliath won't stop talking, but the only way to silence him is to talk back.
