Whenever I read classics especially about great prayer men like John Hyde, Willian Brainerd, George Muller and Father Nash, I see clearly that there are dimensions in prayer. John Hyde once prayed with a man without saying anything except for occasional words in groans, the other man began to weep because he felt the power that oozed out from that apostle of prayer that prayed without plenty words. Just occasional groans.
John Hyde was nicknamed praying Hyde. Hannah's heart was extremely sorrowful and she needed to speak with God but words failed her. Her heart was praying deeply, her lips moved but her voice was not heard. That's a very uncommon dimension in prayer. It is not something that you can form, that can only happen when your total being is immersed in prayer. That was how the saints of old prayed and drew power from on high.
I heard about a man whose words in prayers soaks the wall of his room. That's deep. Heart-felt prayer is the only prayer that touches God. It is not in much words or loud shouting but the connection of your heart to God in prayer. That is what matters not gymnastics in prayer.
Father, launch me into a deeper dimension in my prayer life In Jesus Name. Amen.
