THE ANOINTED MINSTREL

May 12, 2015 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

1Sam16:23 And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.

I grew up in the choir department as a church boy and even up till now, I'm in the choir. I play three instruments but I love the drums. Over the years, I see that most instrumentalist do not have the right attitude to what they are doing. It is either they are playing to get paid by the pastor or just to show their skills. Some are even playing in the church band because they want to woo a sister.

Looking at the life of David, he is my model minstrel. He played the harp and in his time, deliverance occurred while playing the harp. He didn't pray neither did he speak in tongues but he PLAYED the harp. If you can change your attitude to that little thing you're doing in God's house, it can be a tool for someone's deliverance and healing.

If you're anointed as an instrumentalist, the sick only needs to hear you play and get healed. There is nothing you're doing for God that is not spiritual. We have left spirituality to those teaching the word and those in prayer department. There's power when an anointed minstrel is ministering. As a preacher, sometimes if I want to minister under the anointing, all I need is an anointed minstrel to stir me up.

In that little thing you're doing in God's house, seek the anointing upon it.

Action point

Father, I receive the anointing upon my work in your house In Jesus name. Amen.
