1 Cor2:10 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
IS MARRIAGE A BLACK MARKET?
There is a black market mentality that some people preach about marriage. They liken the choice of whom to marry to buying a product you don't know and whose quality hasn't been tested. So the believe here is that one could be lucky and unlucky, one could marry a bad man or woman, witch or wizard. Unfortunately, there are Christians that have this mentality and they preach it to singles. There are so many confused singles in churches. They have imbibed the black market belief so they are already preparing for the worst. Some resorted into cohabiting so that they can test their 'product'. That's using the arms of flesh to help yourself. So many ladies have cohabited with several men because the men want to test their products. At the end, the guy may or may not marry them. That is anti kingdom. It is only when singles don't engage the Holy Spirit that they hinge their marital choice on luck.
Dear single, marriage is not a black market. God's thoughts towards you is good and he want to give you a good future(good spouse inclusive). Let me also state categorically that there's nothing called luck in the life of a believer that is led by the Spirit. The choice of whom to marry should be a bye-product of a consistent and genuine walk with God. I think where we should start our marriage seminars or teachings to singles should be on having fellowship with God who knows all things. A single that doesn't have a solid walk with God, who is yet to know God through his word and voice would choose a life partner with the luck mentality not from an assurance of having heard from God.
King Solomon advised that we should trust the Lord with all our hearts and not to lean on our own understanding. He said we should acknowledge him in all our ways(marriage inclusive) and he shall direct our path(Prov 3:5-6). Those that put their trust in God and wait on him for direction cannot miss it. The moment some preachers began to tell singles that God is not concerned about leading people on marital choice, that was when people began to marry Jezebels and Nebuchadnezzar. God is interested in the choice of whom you will marry because your marriage is tied to the fulfillment of your purpose. Those that are led by God will never enter marital black market. God is too good to lead you wrongly. He doesn't play dice with your life, marriage inclusive.
Father, I receive grace to listen to your Spirit on the choice of whom to marry In Jesus name.
