FELLOWSHIP WITH THE SAINTS
When you enter a car dealer shop to buy a car, you'll agree with me that after payment, the car becomes yours. The receipt is written in your name and other necessary particulars. However, no car was made to last without regular care, servicing and repair.Even if it is bought brand new, regular maintenance is needed. That's the way church is to the believer. Your salvation was paid for by Christ. He paid the price of blood. Church is the service centre of the new creation where he would be diagnosed and offered prescription.
You may be wondering why church attendance is a crucial decision that will shape your life forever. When you got born again, you received a new life. You were accepted in the beloved and your name was written in the book of life. This new life is different from your normal life which is corruptible. This new life cannot grow or diminish but the man that has received the new life can be stunted in growth and diminish spiritually. Some are fond of saying, "church is inside me". That's a wrong ideology. You need a place where you can be fed to growth and maturity in the things of God.
The believers in the early church were committed to fellowshiping with the Saints. That was why they were on fire for the Lord. If your life would experience a transformation , you need to be in the fellowship of the Saints regularly. You need a Pastor that will lead you into the scripture pasture. The faith life cannot be lived in isolation. Iron must sharpen iron and one burning soul must light others.
