THE TRUTH REVEALED IN ACTS 10:34-35

January 28, 2020 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

Acts 10:34-35 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

There's this believe that God loves some people more than others. It is very easy for someone in a third world nation to think God has abandoned them while those in western nations are topmost in God's agenda. This idea of saying that some are God's favourite has been made popular by some preachers. There are people sitting in church pews with spiritual low self esteem. They see a class of people as spiritual and useable by God but they don't see themselves as a vessel that God can use for his glory.

When Peter preached in the house of Cornelius, the Holy Spirit came on those Gentiles and they were baptized with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Peter must have been surprised and I'm sure other Jewish brethren were. The Jews always have this mentality of, "we are God's special children". Maybe they thought the Holy Spirit was for them only but they received the shocker of their lives when the power of God descended on the Gentiles. Peter made it clear that those that fear God and work righteousness shall be accepted by God. That's the condition for standing out in our walk with God regardless of our tribe and ethnic affiliations.

If you walk in the fear of God and do what is right, you will dine with God. Nobody is more a child of God than you are. What makes the difference between two believers is what they do and how they relate with God. No tribal or ethnic sentiments with God. Choose to walk with God.
