Matthew 28: 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
DECIDE TO BE INVOLVED IN GOD'S MISSION TO THE UNREACHED
When Jesus was leaving the earth, he commanded us to go and make disciples of all nations. The nations Jesus meant is not the same as what many of us call nation today. The common usage of that word nation today refers to sovereign countries however, it meant a different thing in the context of Jesus' words. The word nation in context of Matthew 28:19 is from the Greek "ethne". That is where we got the word ethnic group from. It refers to people that have affinity by language and culture. So when Jesus told us to go and make disciples of all nations, he was telling us to evangelize along and across ethnic lines. While there are about 196 countries, there are 17, 298 nations( people groups) in the world today.
Among those people groups, 7,368 have heard not the gospel sufficiently. Those that haven't heard or have not been reached with the gospel message are known as unreached people group. It is believed that they have less than 2% evangelical Christians among them. Imagine the millions that have gone into Christ less eternity without hearing the gospel. That calls for concern among believers who believe the lost must be saved. I read somewhere that over 70,000 people die daily without hearing about Jesus. If that is true, there is a need for you and me to arise for the salvation of these group of people who do not have access to the gospel.
God is on a mission to redeem people from among these unreached people so that they can worship him( Rev 7:9). That's God's ultimate goal. You can be a partaker of God's missions in your own little way. For me, it starts with prayer. You can pray the gospel to reach those unreached nations of the world. You can subdue kingdoms on your knees. You can do this daily even if it is for 30seconds.You can go to the mission field where the unreached are either on short term or long term to share the message of God's love to them. God is calling men and women from all over the world to reach the unreached. You can send them through your finances because reaching out to the unreached has cost implications. In your priority list this year, let missions be included.
