2Cor 5:15. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. NIV

A CHANGE IN LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE

In pre colonial times, the basic leadership structure we had in Africa was monarchy. The king reigned supreme. Every town had a leadership structure built around age grade groups, secret societies, chiefs and kings. In some cases, it was a decentralized form of government while in other places it was centralized. Those times, the names of kings always send shivers down the spine of most people because kings were supreme. When colonial masters came, they introduced a different system of government. They appointed district officers, governors of regions and protectorates. Somehow, that weakened the power of kings. In English colonies, the queen ruled through her officers. Till date, there is no state in Nigeria ruled by kings. Today, governors influence who becomes king. That's a change in political or leadership structure.

Now that you are in Christ, there must be a change in who leads your life. The old structure of carnal leadership must give way for a Spirit-led life. Everything about your life must come under the control of your new master. The effect of that would a change in life style and submission to the will of the master. Our generation may not understand who a Lord is. In pre colonial times, kings were Lords. Jesus is not just a saviour, he must also be a lord over your life.

As a believer , your decisions must be made as directed by your Lord and master because there's a change in leadership structure. Your Lord must determine who you will marry, where you will go, the kind of Job you will do, what you will wear and where you will live. Jesus want to be in-charge. The type of colonialism in the kingdom is not by force, it is a product of willing submission to the master. Who is in-charge of the government of your life and family?

Action point

Father, colonize my life In Jesus name.
