1Pet3:7 In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered. NLT
I was conversing with someone sometime ago, he said he believe that women in marriage ought to be slapped sometimes as a form of caution. Eventually, when he married, he became a wife beater. When you talk to some men, they have an unholy sense of superiority against women because they believe 'it is a man's world'. Hey! It is God's world not for men.
God didn't tell husbands to beat their wives at the slightest provocation neither did God say that wives should be enrolled into slavery in the name of domestic chores as full time house wife. The scriptures enjoined men to honour their wives and treat them with understanding. You honour your wife by caring and staying committed to her.
Treating her like Christ treated the church is the ultimate honour you can ever give to a woman. How did Christ treat the church? He loved the church unconditionally, gave himself up for the church&washed her clean. That's your duty as a man; the prayers of some men are not answered because of how they're treating their wives.
As a man, your progress is determined by how well you treat your wife.
