Job42:11 Then all his brothers, sisters, and former friends came and feasted with him in his home. And they consoled him and comforted him because of all the trials the LORD had brought against him. And each of them brought him a gift of money and a gold ring. NLT
Sometimes, when reading through the book of Job, I can imagine what he must have gone through during his ordeal. I don't know if he recovered from the trauma of seeing his wife telling him to curse God and die neither did he recover from the accusations of his friends. I am just thinking. He was beaten and battered physically, spiritually and emotionally.
Eventually, when the Lord restored him, association of old friends that left him during his ordeal returned to rejoice with him. Those friends are fair weather friends. Dear reader, don't build your life or entrust your life with friends that comes around when things are good but disappears when things go wrong. You must separate from those that come around you when things are rosy but can't stand by you when things are bad.
One good way to help yourself in destiny is to have covenant friends just like what existed between David and Jonathan. A covenant friend is someone whose commitment and loyalty to you is destiny tied, he's someone that is not threatened by your success and he doesn't desert you when you fail or fall. A covenant friend would correct you lovingly because the goal is to make each other better.
Father, I receive grace for wise association In Jesus name.
