Proverbs21: 20 The wise have wealth and luxury, but fools spend whatever they get. NLT
Recently, I was talking to a tri cycle operator about saving little money here and there. We got talking about taking bank loan and I told him I'm not a fan of people taking bank loans. In fact, if you have bankers as friends, they'll advise against it because the interest rate is killing. Most people want to do big things but aren't ready to save up for it.
The mentality of 'chop and quench' is the reason why many are poor today. Financial experts advised that we should be able to save at least 10% of our income either monthly or weekly. No matter how spiritual you are, you must be financially intelligent and smart to live a comfortable life. These are things some unbelievers know that makes them live better than some believers.
Do not spend all you earn. Commit a part of your earnings to savings for a project that is worthwhile. Couples must agree on how they want to save up to build. If you're fond of buying clothes and shoes every month and spending on luxuries instead of what you need, you are inviting poverty. Ants store food in dry season for the rainy day, if ants are that wise, you should be wiser.
Father, I receive grace to save and to be financially smart In Jesus name. Amen
