1John2:6 Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did. NLT
The disciples of Jesus were called Christians in Antioch because their character was Christ-like. That became the standard for everyone that belongs to the faith that we profess. Being a Christian is not a title neither is it a cliche for church-goers but it is the visible evidence of a life that is patterned after a loving saviour- Christ.
The hall mark of Christianity is to live just like Christ lived. If our life style is against what Christ stands for, then we are not living like he did. Stop trying to be like someone else, there are people that want to talk like someone else maybe their mentor but I have always said that any man that is not following Christ is not worth following. Paul told one of the churches he wrote to that they should follow him as he follow Christ.
Every day, as we fellowship with God in his word, our desire is to be transformed into the very image of Christ. The lines of a popular hymn says 'Oh! to be like thee, blessed redeemer, this is my constant longing and prayer'. Christ-likeness should be our perpetual longing and we'll become more like him till we see him in glory just as he is.
Father, I pray for a constant longing and desire to be like Christ and to be transformed to his very image In Jesus name. Amen
