I remember the story T.L. Osborn told about one of his evangelistic campaigns. When he got to that country, they demanded of him to pray healing for someone. When he did, nothing happened. He returned to God and he fasted until he was soaked with power. When he returned, there was a great power display there and God used him mightily.
The world must see that your God is powerful. Your message is worthless when it is not backed-up by the power of God. When you preach that Jesus saves, heals and deliver, you must show it to them. We need the anointing to convince doubting Thomases that Jesus Christ is real and he's alive.
When you take a cursory look at religions in the world, they are trying to use demonic powers to convince others about the veracity of their message. That is akin to what Jesus said. He said without signs and wonders, these people won't believe(paraphrasing). The higher power
Is available to us and when there's a power contest, the lesser power must bow.
