Acts13:36 This is not a reference to David, for after David had done the will of God in his own generation, he died and was buried with his ancestors, and his body decayed. NLT
Whenever I read through this chapter of the bible, the verse used as opening text in today's devotional always makes me have a deep thought about what it takes to die in the Lord. David died not because he was old but because his assignment was done. He fulfilled purpose and he gave up the ghost.
There is a plan of God for your life. The purpose of God for your life is also known as his will for your life. It is the reason you are alive, it is the reason you had that kind of education, experience(s), challenges. It is even the reason why you were born into that family and country. God didn't make mistake about your coming into this world. Everything was pre-planned and orchestrated by him.
The only reason why you should die is because we have seen it all from you. If you haven't exhausted yourself by fulfilling why you came, you are not permitted to die. If a man dies without fulfilling his purpose here on earth, he won't receive his reward in heaven. God doesn't reward us for doing just anything but for doing his will(purpose for our lives).
Jesus died as a young man but he fulfilled his purpose and then it was good for him to die. The best time to die is when you're done with your assignment.
Father, I will not die without fulfilling why I am here In Jesus name. Amen
