John14:23 Jesus replied, "All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them. NLT
There are some songs I call Christian blues. Some of those songs can be mistaken for a worldly romantic song except for one or two words in the lyrics that mentions Christ. There are some that do not even make mention of Jesus but we sing them in our churches because we know a christian composer composed them. Most of these songs talks about loving God.
Some sing these songs with tears streaming down their cheeks professing their love for God. It is good but over the years, I discovered the bible way of loving God. In the scriptural text above, Jesus made it clear to his disciples that the easiest way to know God-lovers is by their obedience to God's word. Our songs may raise our emotions high but what moves God is our obedient heart.
When you show to God that you love him by obeying him, Jesus promised that he would come to make his home with such a fellow. Jesus is not living in some homes because they haven't proven that they will treat him well. He loves those that obey his father's instructions. Our love for God shouldn't be on our lips alone but in our act of obedience to him.
Father, I receive grace to be fully obedient to your words In Jesus name. Amen.
