FREE FROM PHARISAIC YOKE

March 20, 2015 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

Acts15:10 So why are you now challenging God by burdening the Gentile believers with a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors were able to bear?

NLT

The Pharisees were the custodians of mosaic law in the bible days. They were so religious and pious but they were ravening wolves on the inside. They put a load of the laws on people of which they themselves couldn't bear them. The Gentile believers had issues with some Jews who told them they can't be accepted by God unless they are circumcised hence, the statement above

was made by Paul.

For a believer to be accepted by God, the real circumcision is that of the heart not a bodily removal of foreskin (though medically important). There are pharisaic preachers today, they give a long list of what you must do before you can be saved whereas Jesus wants you to come to him as you are. Some will tell you to do ALL your restitution before Jesus can accept you, that's not true.

You can't do all restitution and it is not restitution that makes you save. You are saved by believing in Jesus and accepting his grace into your life first then restitution can follow. Don't let people put a pharisaic yoke on you, we live under grace and not the law. Anything that isn't consistent with the teachings of grace is absolutely wrong.

Christ has set you free, no more yokes.

Action point

CONFESSION: - I am a product of grace, no more yokes to bear except the yoke of Christ. Free from the curse of the law and its attachments, I can't be bound anymore In Jesus Name.
