I was under a ministration sometimes ago where the preacher alluded the plenty wives Solomon had to being wise. He was trying to tell the couples in that meeting that Solomon was wise and he managed 700 wives properly while some of them can't even cope with one wife. I was stunned to hear that and I believe some in that meeting took it in hook line and sinker.
When you read the 11th Chapter of first kings, we were told that those women that Solomon married were strange women and they made his heart stray from God. I expect someone wise to go confirm if what that pastor preached was totally correct. The truth behind that matter is that Solomon married plenty wives and he backslided.
The Berean Christians were known to be honourable because they searched from the scriptures if what Paul said was true. Every believer should be a Berean-like kind of Christian. No matter what your pastor, Bishop, G.O. or presiding apostle teaches, don't say I concur with 'papa' when you haven't confirmed it from God's word. I have heard respected preachers in my country preach or say what they cannot thoroughly substantiate from God's word.
If I teach or preach what cannot be substantiated from God's word, discard it.
