1Pet4:8 Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. NLT
A couple that had serious marital crises decided to consult their pastor. They were considering divorce but they decided that they'll talk with their pastor. He interrogated both of them to know the reason behind their persistent quarrels but they couldn't give a cogent reason. The pastor told both of them to go back home and live in peace for sometime before he would give his final word on their decision to divorce each other.
The pastor told the man to make a complaint box so that whenever they hurt each other, they'll write the exact offence on a paper, date it and drop it in the box. After one month, they took the box to the pastor, he broke the box and he found several complaints paper written by the wife but he found just a piece of paper from the husband with this inscription: 'despite all you've done to hurt me, my love for you keeps no record of your wrongs, I love you dear'.
The woman broke down in tears and the pastor reconciled them.
When we walk in true love with one another, we won't keep the record of wrongs. When you dwell on hurts, you'll keep hurting and forgiveness would be an arduous task. True love covers multitude of sins and that's what God expects from every of his Children. The love of God towards man dates back to the time when man decided to forsake God, yet God provided a way for reconciliation through Christ.
When we walk in love, we manifest the true character of our father in heaven.
Father, I receive the grace to walk in true love In Jesus name. Amen
