Hebrews13:7 Remember your leaders who taught you the word of God. Think of all the good that has come from their lives, and follow the example of their faith. NLT
I have seen some believers that so much buy into their pastor or discipler even to the extent of speaking and dressing like him. Well, I am not judging anyone on that but what I have seen that makes no bible sense is when followers repeat the mistakes of their leaders. The scripture enjoined us to think of the good that has come from their lives and follow suit.
You are not being a good disciple if you talk and dress like your pastor or spiritual mentor. That is not what God is expecting from you but rather, an imitation of the Christ-like character that you see in your leader. Do not be a blind follower, search your scriptures to know what is right and wrong then be sure that what you want to imitate in life of your leader is in total conformity with the bible.
Do not hero-worship your pastor like some people do today. Your pastor is not alpha and omega, he is God's representative here on earth for a kingdom assignment. Keep looking out for the good in their lives and start doing likewise.
Father, I receive the grace to imitate the right thing In Jesus name. Amen
