1John2:27 But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ. NLT
When we read scriptures such as this, there is a need for us to understand what it is really saying. Does it mean that we don't need teachers of the word? No, I don't think so. The teaching referred to here is not in reference to what the teacher in the five-fold ministry is doing in the body of Christ but rather it refers to what is needed to be learnt for victorious living that no man can teach.
There are situations in which we need accurate instruction or revelation on how to go about things. The teaching ministry of the Spirit comes into play in such situations. While in school, I wrote most of my exams under the direction of the Spirit, some of them I knew the questions even before writing exams and I learnt from the Spirit on how to go about tackling those exams.
In greater dimensions, the Spirit of God can teach you what you didn't know in the secular. I heard about a man that was not schooled but the Holy Spirit taught him how to read the bible. Isn't that amazing? If we walk in close communion with the Spirit of God, he will teach us things that are relevant for our lives and destinies.
Father, I subscribe to the teaching ministry of the Spirit In Jesus name.
