Sometimes, when we preach to unchurched people, you'll hear responses like 'Church is in my heart', 'I don't need a church', 'most pastors are after my money', 'there are hypocrites in church',and so many other comments that are self- assertive. The issue here is not about what you see around today in churches but what God's word has said.
From the scriptures, we are mandated not to forsake the gathering of God's people. There is a blessing that comes with being under a spiritual gathering of saints headed by a pastor. God has designed the church to be a place where you can find succour and comfort especially in times of troubles. It is God's discipleship centre that will mature you into the very image of Christ.
Don't sit at home on sunday watching a preacher all day, find a virile body of believers and fellowship with them. When the crisis of life comes, that pastor on t.v.may not visit you or reach out to you for adequate support and encouragement. Submit your self to a structured leadership in a church and be fed there.
Father, I pray for all churches worldwide, may they become centres where seekers can find you In Jesus name.
