Ezra 9:2 For the men of Israel have married women from these people and have taken them as wives for their sons. So the holy race has become polluted by these mixed marriages. Worse yet, the leaders and officials have led the way in this outrage.” NLT
The Children of Israel married foreigners, those whom God forbade them from marrying. The nations from which they married from were idolatrous and ungodly, that led to a generation of Jews that knew nothing about Jehovah, they were polluted. God raised Ezra to correct that anomaly in his time.
God is interested in your marital future, his desire for you is to get it right. It may be impossible for you to raise a godly generation if you marry an unbeliever. Your choice of whom to marry should be from within the fold of God's people and not an unbeliever. Your romance with an unbeliever will lead you to a life of marital doom. If you marry an unbeliever, the devil and demons would be your in-laws.
God is interested in the kind of seeds that we raise, I have seen a family where the Children were divided into different faith, some followed the mother's faith and the other their fathers'. That's a confused family; there is nothing like good unbeliever. He may be promising you good things and telling you sweet nonsenses but your eyes will open when you marry. Don't let it cross your mind, an unbeliever is a no go area in the choice of whom to marry.
